How do people do it?

I just don't understand how people do it.  How do they get things done and not have their homes fall apart?  The only way I can see it as a possibility is if I clean to the exclusion of all other activities.  That is the only way that I can see getting all my household chores done.  When I stop to do something else such as eat, shop, sleep, the house starts to fall apart.  Animal hair reproduces itself in the corners and under the furniture.  The toys migrate from their cubbies.  Dishes spontaneously generate in the sink.  The clothing goes out without bodies to fill them, that they may soil themselves.   I am not making this up.

Mornings!  Who loves them?  There is no more chaotic time of day.  The transition from sleeping to being awake traumatic, like birth.  Who needs that first thing?

Reinvention

So, I have to reinvent myself.  Exactly how does one do that?

Technically, my invention had nothing to do with any decision I made.  I just sort of fell into it -- with a push from my dad.  Now, SO, is pushing me to blog.  People tell me I have a writing gift.  Now what to write about to generate a little cash?  No one reads this blog, so there's a starting point....

Owie! My head hurts!

When you've got a little drama mama on your hands, the illnesses and complaints never stop.  How can you tell when she's hurting and when she's emoting?

5:30 am, the calls come from the room next door.  Her head hurts.  I walk into the room.  It's hot in there!  She's sitting up in bed, eyes half open.  Her cheeks are red.  I can see that in the dim light.  I pick her up.  She's like a baked potato in pajamas.

The Bottomless Hamper

It seems I do a lot of laundry these days, hence the name of the blog. It's not just the dirty duds that pile up that give meaning to the title, but more the idea that there is an unstoppable force to life that rolls on no matter how we try to stop it. The best we can do is keep up.

I haven't decided what to blog about yet, but I am sure it will come to me at some point, I hope.
